Summary

Stay tuned for an unexpected resurgence in the beloved 1997 RPG franchise with new downloadable content (DLC) launching this month—though it's for an entirely different game. Despite nearly three decades since its debut, the original Final Fantasy continues to captivate audiences, supported by numerous adaptations and remasters that keep its legacy alive.

While fans eagerly anticipate further developments, they can already immerse themselves in a piece of its rich narrative through newly released virtual merchandise in Final Fantasy XIV. The popular MMORPG is celebrating its 2026 US Fan Festival with two special FF7-inspired cosmetic items now available for purchase in its digital marketplace.

Two distinct cosmetic additions are now accessible within Final Fantasy XIV's virtual storefront to honor the Fan Festival. First, players can acquire the Hardy-Daytona mount—a faithful recreation of Cloud's iconic vehicle from the Midgar escape sequence—priced at $26.99 during the promotional period before reverting to standard pricing.

Complementing this is the Red XIII minion companion, a whimsical, smaller rendition of the franchise's beloved canine character. This playful addition costs $6.29 during sales and $6.99 at regular price.

Additional festival-exclusive items include runway walk animations, Aunt Til's signature T-shirt ensemble, a Tonberry-themed outfit, Orchestrion collectibles, and festive emojis like the /eategg. All merchandise remains available until maintenance begins for patch 7.5 on April 28.
