With April hurtling towards its end, users have been hearing about the titles set to leave the service in May. With each month adding a brand-new batch of games, that means that others have to leave, mostly because their contracts with publishers have come to an end. As such, those games will head back to full price, giving users just a few weeks to get them at no extra cost.
However, the games set to leave the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium library in May have left members with a sour taste in their mouth.
PlayStation Plus Is Losing A Ton Of Games In May
Thanks to the Japanese and Asian PS Stores, we know now which titles are getting the chop next month, and it will be later today that the west will see the list confirmed. As such, the following games are set to leave PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium as of 19 May 2026:
- Control Ultimate Edition
- The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan (select regions including Japan)
- The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope
- Mortal Shell + Mortal Shell Enhanced Edition
- MotoGP 25
- Sand Land
- Soul Hackers 2
It is worth noting that this may not be a definitive list as Sony has been known to add some games to the list at the last minute, but we can safely assume that these are the main titles which will be getting the chop. Most notably is perhaps the Control Ultimate Edition, especially as its sequel, , is set to launch later this year. As such, removing it from the PS Store seems like bad timing as many players will want to either give themselves a reminder of the first game, or even play it for the first time ahead of the sequel's launch.
series is also another one to get the chop, which is a shame for those looking for a fun, interactive horror franchise, and with a 7.5 User Score on Metacritic, is another banger that we will be sad to see go.
Which Of These PS Plus Games Do You Need To Play?
The good news is that you have just under a month until these games are set to leave the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium library, so if there are still titles you are yet to play, now would be the perfect time, unless you are willing to pay full price for them in the future. If you are a fan of racing games, then you should be eyeing up , whilst is perfect for fans of the Persona franchise, and anime-style RPGs in general.
