I can't say enough good things about . While it was initially billed by some, it eventually grew into a universally beloved classic, and even got a 3DS remake.

In the midst of folks clamoring for a full-on modern remake on Switch 2, it's also being reimagined in a big way on , and fans are loving it.

Zelda: Majora's Mask Has Never Looked This Good

And It Was Already Stylized

On X, you can check out a cleaned-up Majora's Mask that still retains its original look while appearing slightly sharper and more modern. According to creator Usama Javaid, it's "The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask recomp with nerrel's textures + 3Ds child Link + CRT effect."

Naturally, fans are loving it: "Honestly, a very damn good looking CRT filter, might be the only one I would use besides using a real CRT. respect."

The thing is, Majora's Mask already looks fantastic as-is. There is very little you need to change, because the original designs and uniqueness of the world of Termina hold up indefinitely. While Ocarina of Time is also fantastic in its own right, the Zelda team really hunkered down and made Majora's Mask even more personality-driven.

It's considered one of the more unique games of all time for a reason, and much of that is due to its strong foundation. A lot of the NPCs and characters have also rightfully taken their place in the pantheon of Zelda and RPG fandom.

Will A Majora's Mask Remake Follow Ocarina Of Time?

In A Perfect World It Would

With the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake rumor floating around and a potential release this year, fans are already wondering if we're going to get a Majora's Mask remake too. Nintendo should treat them as two peas in a pod, given their quick-release schedule and direct-sequel lineage.

Majora's Mask is also the perfect game to "graduate" to after Ocarina of Time, given its somewhat heavier themes and creepier imagery. Although it could easily have been a cash-grabbing sequel, it managed to differentiate itself to an extreme degree. When replaying Ocarina of Time, I'll often start Majora's Mask immediately after because of how well they pair together.

It would be a shame to play through the story of Ocarina of Time and miss out on Majora's Mask, as you won't be able to see the full progression of that specific Link play out.
