After original cast members David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson spoke out about Ryan Coogler's reboot of , another actor from the series is now breaking his silence.

Duchovny and Anderson, who played Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, respectively, recently revealed that they talked with Coogler about and know the general idea of the Oscar-winning filmmaker's vision, but they don't know if they will be appearing in the series; Anderson seems open to reprising her character, though.

Now Robbie Amell, who joined The X-Files for its final two seasons as Agent Miller, is reacting to the news that the long-running sci-fi drama is being remade. In an interview with ScreenRant's Tatiana Hullender for Pluto TV's "The Fan Is Out There" contest, the actor called himself a huge fan of Coogler, who "doesn't miss."

It's great that Coogler was able to "get the blessing" of original series creator Chris Carter "and for Gillian to be talking about how excited she is for it." Amell revealed that he's "very excited" to see what Coogler does with the reboot, and he has "no reservations" about seeing such an iconic series be reimagined for a new generation.

"I'm not nervous about anything. I'm a huge Ryan Coogler fan. He doesn't miss. For him to get the blessing of Chris Carter, and for Gillian to be talking about how excited she is for it? I mean, great. I'm very excited to see what he does. I have no reservations."

Before joining The X-Files, like Struck by Lightning, The Babysitter, True Jackson VP, The Tomorrow People and The Flash. After the series ended, he appeared in A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Witcher, and Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.

and centered on Mulder and Scully's investigations into unsolved cases that dealt with paranormal activity. With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 74% and an 86% audience rating, the series became a pop culture phenomenon and won several awards and nominations at the Emmys, Golden Globes and SAG Awards.

Its initial run lasted for nine seasons, as well as a feature-length film. After a seven-year hiatus, 20th Century Fox released a second movie, , and then the series itself returned in 2016 for two more seasons before going off the air in 2018.

Now, all these years later, Coogler, who's best known for directing hits like Black Panther, Black Panther: Wanda Forever, and Sinners, is as director and writer of the pilot, with Jennifer Yale working alongside him as the showrunner and Carter as an executive producer.

As of right now, only the pilot is being developed, and Hulu will decide at a later point whether to pick up the series. Danielle Deadwyler and Himesh Patel have been cast as the two leads, and their FBI characters will follow a similar path as Mulder and Scully did. As Duchovny has discussed, though, it's unclear if this new version takes place in the same universe as the original series.
