Published on May 5, 2026, at 9:00 PM EDT, this piece delves into the intriguing intersection of Spider-Man and the Daredevil saga within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Authored by Felipe Rangel, a seasoned journalist whose career began in 2026, the article offers a deep dive into the cinematic journey of Peter Parker, highlighting his evolution from comic book pages to blockbuster screens. Rangel's expertise shines through as he recounts the milestones of Spider-Man's film appearances, including the groundbreaking 'Spider-Man: No Way Home,' which saw multiversal chaos unfold as beloved heroes crossed paths.
Beyond mere chronology, the narrative examines the significance of Spider-Man's presence—or lack thereof—in key story arcs such as 'Daredevil: Born Again.' The absence of Peter Parker during Mayor Fisk's tumultuous reign left a narrative void that fans felt acutely, especially considering the potential for Spider-Man to become a central figure in the ongoing street-level events shaping the MCU.
The article further speculates on the upcoming 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day,' set for release on July 31, 2026, pondering whether this installment can mend the fragmented connection between Spider-Man and other MCU pillars like Daredevil. With rumors suggesting appearances by familiar faces such as the Punisher and hints of a refreshed approach to Spider-Man's place within the broader universe, anticipation builds for a possible convergence of worlds that could finally deliver the interconnected storytelling audiences have longed for.
Through meticulous detail and thoughtful analysis, this review invites readers to reflect on how Spider-Man's cinematic legacy continues to shape expectations for future crossovers and the enduring appeal of one of pop culture's most iconic heroes.
However, two months before Spider-Man's next movie swings into theaters, the wall-crawler missed the MCU's biggest street-level event to date. Season 2 has finished. Sure, the rights' situation regarding Holland's Spider-Man appearing in a live-action TV show was likely too complicated, but his absence from the Marvel series creates a huge question for the franchise.
The MCU's Mayor Fisk Arc Ends Without New York City's Biggest Vigilante

Warning: This article contains spoilers from Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, Episode 8. By not appearing in either of the first two seasons of Daredevil: Born Again, Holland's Spider-Man has fully missed the reign of Mayor Fisk. Early in season 1 of the MCU series, Vincent D'Onofrio was elected New York City's mayor. By the end of the season, he declared martial law, sending his violent Anti-Vigilante Task Force to the streets. As New York's most prominent superhero, Spider-Man should have been one of the characters hunted by the AVTF.
However, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 ended with Mayor Fisk's reign of terror being finished and Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and the people of New York retaking control of the city. As such, the biggest street-level event in the MCU is over, as Fisk is no longer the mayor, and the city's vigilantes don't have to hide in the shadows and rebel against the government. Sadly, Spider-Man was nowhere to be seen, and that is a shame, as he could have been one of the faces of the movement alongside Daredevil.
How Spider-Man: Brand New Day Can Make Up For Peter Parker's Daredevil: Born Again Absence
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in theaters on July 31. The film has the opportunity of compensating for Holland's Daredevil: Born Again absence in a significant manner, potentially introducing at least one character from the MCU universe. The Spider-Man movie might initiate a new street-level occurrence that halts the MCU's momentum. With Mayor Fisk removed and Kingpin exiled far away by season 2's conclusion, a power vacuum exists.

In Marvel's forthcoming Spider-Man feature, adversaries such as Tombstone and Scorpion may ascend to fill that niche. According to statements from Holland and director Destin Daniel Cretton, fans should anticipate a fresh chapter in the MCU Spider-Man saga featuring a street-level narrative rather than another multiverse event akin to No Way Home. Thus, Spider-Man confronting mob bosses and their enforcers vying for urban supremacy would perfectly rectify his Daredevil: Born Again season 2 oversight.
Moreover, Jon Bernthal's Punisher is slated to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This inclusion constitutes a dual benefit, echoing Frank Castle's mysterious absence during season 2 despite prior appearances. Additionally, Sheila Rivera appears destined to assume New York City's mayoralty in the film, presenting the hero with the symbolic key to the metropolis in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer—further bridging continuity between the MCU feature and Daredevil: Born Again season 2, thereby softening the sting of Spider-Man's television absence.
