co-director Christopher Miller just revealed what the sci-fi film's theatrical extension means for its future streaming release.
In a post on X, announced that Project Hail Mary won't be streaming "anytime soon" because "this is a movie that needs to be seen on the big screen." He added that the film will be returning to IMAX screens for one week beginning this weekend.
This update comes amid Amazon MGM Studios' announcement that Project Hail Mary's theatrical window is being extended. As a result, the film won't arrive on Prime Video as early as the studio had originally planned. A streaming release date hasn't been revealed yet. Miller encouraged everyone to bring their friends and family to the theater to watch Project Hail Mary because it's a cinematic "experience to share with others."
