Netflix just revealed the release date and a teaser for the upcoming film that will wrap up Nick Nelson and Charlie Spring's story.

After three seasons, the coming-of-age LGBTQ+ series is coming to an end. As announced in 2026, instead of a fourth installment, the show will end with a movie titled Heartstopper Forever.

Heartstopper Forever will be released on July 17. also released a teaser featuring a photo collage of the series' characters, including Nick and Charlie lying down in the snow, Tara and Darcy smiling for the camera, Nick looking shocked, Elle with an arm wrapped around Tao's shoulder, Charlie and Isaac hugging, and Charlie and Elle holding up Pride flags.

Alice Oseman, whose graphic novels the series is based on, can also be seen holding a clapperboard. The teaser ends with a group shot of Nick, Charlie, and their friend group.

Oseman began exploring the world of Heartstopper via their debut novel, Solitaire (which , Charlie's sister), the novellas Nick and Charlie and This Winter, and the novel Radio Silence. They then created the Heartstopper series, which began as a webcomic before being released as graphic novels. Oseman has also written I Was Born for This and Loveless.

So far, five volumes of Heartstopper have been released. The sixth and final installment, which includes chapter 8 and the epilogue, will be released on July 2 in the UK and July 7 in the U.S., which means the film arrives just two weeks later. A box set featuring the entire series will be available in August.

Amid the books' popularity, Netflix began developing a TV show adaptation, which Oseman created and wrote. The author also serves as an executive producer with Patrick Walters, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Euros Lyn, Hakan Kousetta, and Jamie Laurenson.

The film will reunite most of the cast one final time, though Olivia Colman won't be back as Nick's mom, Sarah Nelson, due to a reported scheduling conflict. The character will instead be played by Anna Maxwell Martin, with Derek Jacobi also joining Heartstopper's sendoff.

Heartstopper Forever will be released on Friday, July 17, 2026, on Netflix.
