There's a three-season supernatural TV show on Netflix that has echoes of Lost and The Walking Dead, and should be on your watch list. The supernatural and , with the streamer hosting many original TV shows in these genres and adding notable series to its library.

The Walking Dead and Lost are two of the most memorable supernatural dramas in recent years. However, they have very little in common, beyond an ensemble cast and a preoccupation with death. The Walking Dead is set in a post-zombie apocalypse world following a group of survivors trying to find safety in the face of the undead.

Lost follows a group of survivors who crash-land on a mysterious island where logic and reality seem to be slipping away. combines the best parts of both these shows, and if you're a fan of either, the 2015 three-season Australian series may be just what you're looking to watch next.

Set in Yoorana, Victoria, Australia, Glitch follows James Hayes (Patrick Brammall), a small-town policeman who is called to a cemetery where he discovers that people are rising from their graves in great health but with no memory of who they are or the lives they used to live.

As the newly risen "corpses" try to figure out who they are and what happened to them, James uncovers mysterious links between them. Glitch has zombies if you like The Walking Dead, it has an emotional mystery if you like Lost, and it has a satisfying finale that wraps up 18 episodes of storytelling.

Why Glitch Stands Out Among Supernatural TV Shows

Glitch stands out among other supernatural TV shows like Lost and The Walking Dead as a creepy, mysterious series that combines some of the most , with a story that is surreal and unnerving, but positions the protagonists and the "monsters" on the same side.

In Glitch, everyone is confused. The people who resurrect and crawl out of their graves are as unclear about what is happening as the people who watch them do so. It's a choice that makes it feel like the audience and the show are both on the same side, and makes the mystery feel real as we're all trying to solve it.

While the mysteries pile up in Glitch, as they do in Lost, and while many of those mysteries end up going unanswered, just as they do in Lost, Glitch does not rest entirely on answering some of those unknowable questions. So even though threads are left lingering by the end of three seasons, the audience doesn't feel short-shrifted.

Glitch Is Not An Adaptation Of The French Series, Les Revenants

The plot of Glitch might sound familiar to some. The French series Les Revenants debuted on Canal+ in 2012 and is set in a small French mountain town where previously dead people suddenly walk back in, completely fine and unaware that anything had even happened to them. It was adapted into an English-language show, The Returned, in 2015.

Despite the similar-sounding plots, Glitch and Les Revenants are unrelated, and the shows diverge in some important ways. Notably, that the dead in Glitch do not remember their former lives opens up many questions and storylines about people relearning who they were and deciding if that is still who they want to be.
