has an intense selection of movies ahead for the weekend, and subscribers better get ready to stay glued to their TVs for the duration of what could be an epic three-movie binge. On , I chose to start April with The Age of Adaline, Mission: Impossible, and Lucy. Those films explored different genres.
Instead of following the core idea of last weekend's Netflix movie picks, I decided to go in the opposite direction. While those films came from the romance, action, and sci-fi genres, better viewed standalone over the weekend, this time around, I thought of the selection as a three-movie binge. For that to work, all offerings come from the same larger genre: Thriller.
includes quite a few thrillers, with some of them being Bird Box, Extraction, The Killer, Carry-On, Rebel Ridge, and more. For the second weekend of April, Netflix subscribers are invited to watch two movies that focus on animals as the source of the characters' life-or-death situations, with a true-blood slasher to start the chain of events.
These three movies range from a that has just been released on the streaming service to an underrated theatrical release and a major box office hit. For those looking for an intense weekend binge session on Netflix, the three movies make for the perfect experience. That said, picking any of the three for a standalone watch should also be rewarding.
3 Scream (2026)
Starting the list is Scream, not the original entry in the iconic slasher franchise, but the 2026 reboot that ushered in a new era of horror movies. Scream just arrived on Netflix on Friday, April 10, so for subscribers who missed the movie in theaters, now is the time to get going on this new chapter of the franchise.
Scream stars a young cast led by Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Academy Award winner Mikey Madison, and more. It also brings back Scream franchise veterans like Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette. 2026's Scream focuses on a new Ghostface appearing 25 years after the original killings and targeting young characters with ties to them.
2 Beast (2026)
Now the fun takes the list to the first of two thriller movies, where animals are the source of the scares, not humans. Beast stars Idris Elba as Nate Samuels, a recent widower who, during a trip to South Africa with his daughters, Iyana Halley's Meredith Samuels and Leah Sava Jeffries's Norah Samuels, is faced with a deadly lion.
Beast is a gripping tale of survival as a family dealing with a heartbreaking loss is forced to fight for their lives against a relentless beast, all while trying to grow closer together. At the time of writing, Beast is the 4th most-watched movie on Netflix in the United States, so you do not want to miss all the bloody action.
1 Thrash (2026)
Finally, Thrash, Netflix's new Original movie that was released on the streaming service this Friday, April 10, is the perfect movie to end our weekend binge on. It continues the theme of animal attacks and a tale of survival seen in Beast, as Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor plays Lisa Fields, a woman in a dire situation.

Pregnant and trapped in her car when a massive hurricane hits, Lisa has to find a way to survive as the water rises from the waves brought by the hurricane. To make matters worse, they are shark-infested waters, creating a deadly minefield for her to fight through. Thrash is an intense Netflix movie that should dominate the streamer's charts, so hurry up while it is still early!
