is two thirds of the way through an epic remake project right now, with the final part of that set to drop at some point in 2027. That return to relevance has seen the beloved game showing up in all sorts of places over the last couple of years, and it's great to see such a beloved game from the 90s return to such prominence in its new form.

While we obviously just have to sit tight and wait to hear more from about their plans for the final part of the trilogy, if you're a fan of the franchise, there are some downloads available in other games that let you bring a little Final Fantasy across to other franchises. Now, one of the more prominent of those is set to go away forever, and you'll need to move quickly if you want to grab it.

As on the official FuturLab website, the Midgar and DLCs are set to leave PowerWash Simulator very soon, as detailed in the following statement from the developer.

"Hey Washers! It is the last chance to get your gloves on the free Tomb Raider and Midgar Special Packs for PowerWash Simulator. At 3PM BST on May 19th 2026, these Special Packs will no longer be available to claim across all store fronts.

"Players who have already downloaded the Tomb Raider and Midgar Special Packs will still be able to play them as normal moving forward. For those that haven’t, this is your final chance to claim these Special Packs if you wish to spray down Seventh Heaven or clean Croft Manor.

"Our team loved working on both of these beloved gaming IPs and we have been incredibly lucky to offer them until this point. This also coincides with the end of our formal relationship with Square Enix in June, who have been an incredible partner and have supported the publishing of PowerWash Simulator on PC and console."

As the statement details, this is simply coming about as the result of the very boring expiration of the rights deal between the two developers. It is cool that players can still grab it to keep before it goes away though, so you don't have to miss out on the fun if you get it downloaded in time.

The DLC packs are also available on Steam, , PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch, so don't worry about being excluded based on your platform of choice either.

If you haven't played PowerWash Simulator (or its sequel) yet, because you think the premise sounds a bit silly, please do give it a go if you have the chance. Speaking from personal experience, it does an unbelievable job of relaxing the brain at the end of a long day, and if you can roll some Final Fantasy goodness into that as part of the package, then that's all the better.
