With the introduction of 120 additional , Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet were praised for their story beats, but received mixed reviews based on a myriad of technical problems. However, the duo games still managed to rack up 10 million copies sold in the first three days of launch, making it biggest launch of all time.

Fast-forward four years and Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are back in the limelight as its Chesnaught Tera Raid Battle has arrived. As part of the game's 7-star Tera Raid Battles, Chesnaught is the next major battle with the Spiny Armor Pokémon set to arrive at black Tera crystals from Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. PDT to Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 4:59 p.m. PDT.

With Rock as its Tera-type, Chesnaught will be a formidable foe, and so players will have to work together with their team to be able to break its defenses and destroy the Mightiest Mark that it boasts. If you are new to Tera Battles, fear not, as it will be easy to find the Raid and earn some exciting rewards upon completion.

To start the Chesnaught Tera Raid Battle, you will need to head towards the pillar of light beaming from the Tera Raid crystal. Simply interacting with this will send you into the battle. However, to make sure you will be fighting the latest Tera Pokémon boss, you will need to have downloaded the latest Poké Portal News by selecting the Poké Portal in the X menu, selecting Mystery Gift, and finally, select Check Poké Portal News.

Additionally, for those who want to battle Chesnaught, you will have to make sure that your Trainer has completed the post-game events in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, or they will have to join another player who has completed the events. Additionally, you will only be able to embark on the Chesnaught Tera Raid Battle once per save as a way to stop you getting multiple awards and achievements, so bear this in mind before you start. The rewards up for grabs are definitely not to turn your nose up at, though, as they include significant amounts of XP, as well as candy to level up your Pokémon, items to be sold for currency at Pokémon Centers, items to help boost your team's stats, and most importantly, RockTera Shards which can be used to change your Pokémon's Tera Type.
