The Marvel Cinematic Universe is gearing up for , as the Multiverse Saga begins to near its end.
has ended, as Disney was the last studio to hold its presentation at the Las Vegas event. Marvel Studios was present to finally drop new details about Avengers: Doomsday, with ScreenRant in attendance. The first trailer was finally revealed, sharing the following:
"The trailer opens with a sign of Xavier’s School at the X-Mansion, as Sir Patrick Stewart's Professor X says, "Something is coming." Charles sees a flash of light before we see a close-up of Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom speaking in his Latverian accent. Following the Marvel Studios logo, it cuts to the New Avengers tower, followed by The Fantastic Four meeting Sam Wilson, a.k.a. Captain America's new Avengers.
Thor warns them of what's to come. We see Thor wielding his hammer against Doom. We see Shang Chi versus Gambit. We see Mystique, who takes the form of Yelena Belova. The footage also sees the return of Magneto and Cyclops. Thor narrates, talking about how some may not return from battle. Thor uses his Stormbreaker to fight Victor, as he and Doctor Doom face off closely. We see Steve Roger show up, saying, "Hey, pal," as he pulls Thor’s hammer from his hand.
“I've fought with many warriors in my time. They were stronger than all of us put together, and they died, they died facing enemies that scared me far less than this one does. Everything that they sacrificed will be for nothing if we do not stand together. Aside from your petty squabbles, and resume nothing except this. If you return, you will return as brothers and sisters. Mark my words, we are going to need a miracle," Thor says.

The Avengers: Doomsday trailer also confirms that Kathryn Newton's Cassie Lang will be back for the team-up installment. With in the December entry, the MCU will be getting a variation of Avengers vs. X-Men, something that has been highly demanded for years.
Given the large secrecy surrounding the film to this point, are highly expected, especially given the wrath of Doctor Doom. Anthony and Joe Russo, who were also on stage alongside Downey Jr., Kevin Feige, and Chris Evans, shared how challenging Victor von Doom will be against Earth's Mightiest Heroes, saying, "Victor Von Doom is one of the most complex villains. He's always three moves ahead... which makes him virtually unbeatable."
While Avengers: Doomsday is the final MCU movie for 2026, the story doesn't end there. The Russo brothers are set to direct Avengers: Secret Wars, with Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom confirmed to be back for the Phase 6 installment. The film is set to start shooting this summer, as it is scheduled to open on December 17, 2027.
Avengers: Doomsday releases in theaters on December 18.
